Millions of people suffer from drug and alcohol abuse and addiction. While abuse and addiction may look the same, they are different and usually call for different treatment approaches. Substance abuse and addiction treatment generally fall into two categories: inpatient and outpatient. Inpatient rehab involves intensive, 24-hour supervised treatment in a residential setting. Outpatient rehab is a part-time treatment that enables individuals to receive substance abuse treatment while maintaining their regular daily routines.
At Westwind Recovery®, we understand that not everyone struggling from a substance use disorder either need or can attend inpatient treatment. We also know that to maintain a successful long-term recovery, you sometimes need a little extra support. Outpatient drug rehab is ideal for meeting these needs. Call us or use our online form to see if our outpatient rehab services are right for you or your loved one.
What Makes Outpatient Drug Rehab Different?
The decision about what type of substance abuse treatment to choose can be difficult, especially if you don’t understand the options available or cannot assess your level of substance use on your own. Compared to inpatient rehab programs designed to provide the highest level of care to those with more serious addictions, outpatient rehab programs are more flexible and often more accessible.
Outpatient treatment is ideal for:
- Individuals who cannot break work, school, or family commitments
- Aftercare immediately following inpatient or transitional treatment
- Continuing care for long-term recovery
- Treating milder levels of substance abuse
- Peer and community support
- Help with family reunification
Like all programs at Westwind Recovery®Ⓡ, our outpatient drug rehab center focuses on providing integrated care through holistic and evidence-based treatment practices to create a treatment plan designed to meet each client’s individual needs. Outpatient programs meet for a set number of hours per day and days per week. Outpatient rehab programs and treatments can include:
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
- Medication-assisted therapies (MAT)
- 12-step meetings
- Group therapy
- Family therapy
- Career counseling services
What We Treat
At Westwind Recovery®, a clinician will help determine the length of time spent at the outpatient rehab center based on individual needs and goals. After leaving a sober living facility, attending outpatient rehab will have different needs and goals than someone who is seeking support following a relapse. The length of treatment is also determined by how a person is progressing. Our program provides support for those in recovery from a variety of substances, such as:
- Alcohol
- Prescription Drugs
- Hallucinogens
- Narcotics
- Inhalants
- Marijuana
- Stimulants
- Opioids
Drug and alcohol abuse and addiction often cause damage in many areas of life. Regaining your health and repairing relationships requires learning how to manage your symptoms outside of a structured environment. Outpatient addiction treatment programs are designed to help with this process.
At Westwind Recovery®, outpatient drug rehab center clients receive one-to-one counseling with addiction professionals, doctors, and psychiatrists, as well as group therapy and education about substance use disorders. We know that finding employment following addiction or dual diagnosis treatment is an important part of the recovery process, so we offer services to assist with this process, along with daily life skills.
