Treatment Programs
Westwind Recovery® offers a variety of special Los Angeles substance abuse treatment programs for effective addiction recovery. Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment conducive to healing and personal growth.
LGBTQ
Members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBTQ+) community often face insurmountable stigma for merely existing in the world. Unfortunately, shame can sometimes come from family members and friends. Westwind strives to be a good ally by working hard to help family members better understand sexual orientation, gender identity, and what these concepts mean for close relationships. Clients from the LBGTQ+ community often struggle with co-occurring disorders like anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. Our goal is to always provide a safe, culturally sensitive program environment free of heterosexist stigmas and judgmental attitudes. Plans at the LGBTQ addiction treatment center in Los Angeles are LGBTQ+ issues sensitive and structured for long-term empowerment.
Night Track
Westwind Recovery®’s Night Track program offers flexible options for clients who have work or family obligations during the day. We understand how important it is to maintain a sense of normalcy, to maintain a steady work schedule, or even to continue school while you heal and recover. This intensive-but-accessible substance abuse treatment program helps clients meet their daytime needs while preserving access to intensive outpatient support. Clients will focus on overall wellness, making healthy lifestyle choices, and methods for controlling stress levels while cultivating a robust support network. The number one goal is always to help the client live a happier, more sober life.
Alumni Program
Graduating from a Los Angeles addiction treatment program can feel daunting, especially during early recovery. But moving on from residential or outpatient treatment at Westwind Recovery® doesn’t mean you’re alone; all clients graduating from our program are encouraged to stay connected through our alumni program. Alumni program options include opportunities for fun, sober living activities, support follow-ups, employment support, legal assistance, and even financial management assistance. Clients are encouraged to develop long-lasting friendships and supportive relationships with each other, helping others heal as they also repair and ensure sobriety long-term themselves. It takes time to reach rock bottom; Los Angeles substance abuse treatment programs are dedicated to your success, no matter how long it takes.
Mental Health
Co-occurring mental health disorders are extremely prevalent in people who abuse substances or struggle with addiction. People turn to drugs or alcohol as a form of self-medication when they lack the skills to cope with under-treated or untreated mental health disorders. The addictive substance alleviates the symptoms, but only while intoxication is present. As the user “comes down,” symptoms re-intensify, driving them to use again and creating incredibly harmful dependencies that exacerbate the condition. This pressure is why Los Angeles substance abuse treatment programs must address both the addiction and any mental health disorders at the same time. Clients at the dual diagnosis treatment center in CA are treated with respect, dignity, and an understanding that their addiction and mental health story is unique.
Chronic Pain
Some substance abuse disorders begin as a result of very real, intense, and improperly managed chronic pain. These cases can be incredibly complex and must be handled very carefully to prevent further trauma and suffering. When pain clients come to us after finding themselves addicted, we start with holistic investigations to identify the source of the problem. After helping our clients detox, we work to create a plan that combines physical therapy techniques, talk therapy, and holistic modalities to prevent, minimize, and otherwise control a person’s pain levels with as little medication as is possible. Therapists empower clients to change how they think about pain and resolving it, emphasizing whole-body wellness. Some clients go on to require little to no medication, while others are better able to find alternatives and reduce dosages drastically over time.
When admitted into the Los Angeles chronic pain management programs, you will have already taken a crucial first step in your recovery. In addition to helping clients pursue successful pain recovery through substance abuse treatment programs, we also offer addiction treatment for alcoholism and other drug dependencies that factor pain recovery into the solution. Our revolutionary approach to chronic pain treatment, led by Dr. Ryan Peterson, is geared toward reducing pain levels and increasing function in our clients without the use of opiates.
Virtual Reality Meditation
Quieting your mind and forgetting your thoughts has a significant positive impact and influence on an individual’s attitude and state of wellness. Meditation has proven to be the key to achieving this, but most people in their lifetime will never get to experience the benefits of this. For those who ever try to meditate, it is usually short-lived because it is difficult to stay focused, we have discovered a simple and easy way to achieve this in a matter of seconds by working closely with a leader in the VR industry.
Our friends at TRIPP have built a groundbreaking VR software solution for mind-body wellness that is delivered through state-of-the-art headsets. We are very fortunate to be the first in behavioral health to be able to utilize this technology to its fullest in virtual reality meditation therapy in CA. TRIPP has been testing and working with top scientists and universities to pioneer substance-free mental health solutions that use technology in beneficial ways. We are very fortunate to be able to offer this wellness platform.
Trauma Treatment
Psychological trauma can affect your life for many years after the event or situation that caused it. It isn’t a problem that’s quickly resolved, especially if you try to do it on your own. A traumatic event is defined as one in which you perceive a threat to your life, bodily integrity, or sanity. Through substance abuse treatment programs in Los Angeles, you can work through trauma to gain a hold on and overcome addiction.
Treatment Programs
As addiction professionals, the staff at Westwind Recovery® take the health and well-being of our clients very seriously; so much so, that we have developed a broad spectrum response to what usually amounts to years of self-inflicted abuse and neglect. To this end, every client we have is allowed to address their physical condition even as they cultivate powerfully reinforced spiritual connections. Addiction and mental health treatment programs work together to heal clients’ minds and bodies.
